A Northern Ireland born songwriter Rowena’s early performances took the form of open mic sessions around Belfast.
Support slots under the guidance of David Hull Promotions have included: Kim Richey, Luka Bloom, Gretchen Peters and Kieran Goss.
During the period 1998-2001 Rowena released two eps which received maximum airplay on BBC Radio Ulster and independent stations. This airplay was backed up by interviews and live performances.
As an advocate of local talent, Rowena was part of a team that hosted songwriter sessions at the Island Arts Centre, Lisburn. Taking this opportunity to increase her technical and performance skills.
2011 saw Rowena perform as part of the “Oh Brother Sessions” at the Ards Guitar Festival with Adele Ingram and Jacqui Lewis.
Oct 2011-March 2012: achieved OCN level 2 in Sound and Music Production.
2014 Rowena takes the lead vocal on “got me on my knee” written by Adele Ingram and featured on the highly acclaimed Wookalily debut release “all the waiting while”.
2015 attends the acclaimed Mary Gauthier workshop in Nashville. Subsequently returns to co-write with Ben Glover and Tamara Stewart.
2023 Rowena was pleased to achieve a long held ambition of attaining a BA (Hons) degree with the Open University in Creative Writing and History.
